6km - 569m of elevation gain
I went out with the Comox District Mountaineering Club today. There was 8 of us who were looking to take a shortcut up Castlecrag mountain.
Normally, Castlecrag would be about 35km from the Raven Lodge at Mount Washington. I've done it in a day, but it's long. Turns out you can also drive down some logging roads and get real close if your vehicle can get through a few ditches.
We parked somewhere around 1200m where the snow stopped us. It was a steady climb up but nothing too steep. The snow was fairly solid and we only postholed if we got too close to some of the rocks or trees.
It was a bit cloudy but they were moving fairly quickly and teased us with partial views for the whole hike.
